Important Information
CANCELLATION FEE is the cost of two night's stay or NJ Residents $40.00, Non NJ Residents $50.00 which ever less. 24 hour notice required.
FIREWOOD is not provided at the structures. Firewood is available for sale at the Parvin State Park main office.
RESERVATIONS can be made up to 11 months in advance.
PET FRIENDLY CAMPSITES are available. Pet license and inoculations certificate required.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE-You must sign for your own site. Have your equipment with you and be ready to camp when you register. Make, Model and license plates of all vehicles must be provided at registration as well as your Driver's License.
OCCUPANCY-Limited to 6 individuals and 3 tents per campsite unless group site. Only 2 vehicles permitted on any campsite. Extra vehicles will be required to park in a designated area (additional fees will apply).
AGE REGULATIONS-Campsites must be registered and occupied by a responsible person 18 years of age or older. ALOCOHOL PROHIBITED in NJ State Parks & Forests. QUIET HOURS-From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., and are strictly enforced. Violators of this policy may be evicted. GENERATORS- May be used except during quiet hours. If the use of a generator is deemed unreasonably loud by the facility staff then individual use of a generator may be prohibited /limited. FIRES-Must be built in fire rings provided. Only dead and down wood may be used for fuel. No chainsaws are allowed in campgrounds, and cutting down trees, alive or dead is prohibited.
SWIMMING BEACH is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The snack bar and all beach equipment rentals are available during this period. NOTE: Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. We apologize for this inconvenience as it may occur with little advance notice. Boats requiring gas or oil are not permitted. There are animals such as bear and raccoons in the area. Please keep a clean campsite. Do not leave food out. Waterfront access in campgrounds is limited to campers registered in those specific sites. Additional parking for registered campers and their guests is available in the campground for an additional fee.
Facility Details
Alcohol is prohibited. Pets are prohibited in overnight facilities unless designated pet friendly site. Pet Friendly Campsites require license and inoculation paperwork and additional cost. Campsites: 54 tent and trailer sites with fire rings, picnic tables, lantern hooks and a playground available. Six people and two vehicles per site. Flush toilets, showers, and laundry facilities are within walking distance. Facilities available for people with disabilities. Trailer sanitary station. Located on the south shore of Parvin Lake. Open April 1 through October 31. New Jersey Residents: $20 per night; Non-Residents: $25 per night.
Group campsites: Four group sites; 25 people per site; total capacity: 100. Flush toilets, water, fire rings, picnic tables, one shared picnic pavilion. Located on south shore of Parvin Lake. Open April 1 through October 31. New Jersey Residents: $50 per person, per night; Non-Residents: $100 per person, per night.
Cabins: 18 cabins each with furnished living room with a fireplace or wood burning stove; outdoor campfire rings; two bedrooms to accommodate 4 people; kitchen with running water, electric stove, refrigerator; bathroom with sink, toilet and shower; electricity; brick patio with table and grill. Two of the cabins are accessible for persons with disabilities and offer accommodations for 6 people. Playground available. Cabins are located on the north Shore of Thundergust Lake. Open April 1 through October 31. Four-bunk cabins: New Jersey Residents: $55 per night; $385 per week; Non-Residents: $65 per night; $455 per week. Six-bunk cabins: New Jersey Residents: $75 per night; $525 per week; Non-Residents: $85 per night; $595 per week. Keys must be returned when checking out, failure to do so may result in a fee.
Picnic areas with table and grills are located at beach area. For larger groups, we also offer two reservable picnic pavilions at Thundergust Lake, 100 people per pavilion; total capacity 200. Flush toilets, water, grills, picnic tables, activity and ball fields available. Group picnicking reservations are required. A party of 20 or more people constitutes a group. They may be reserved for a fee: NJ Resident $125 per day/Non-Resident $175 per day. Open April 1st through October 31st. Cancellation fee is 50 percent of Fee. Groups of 20 or more people shall reserve picnic facilities at least five days in advance. Such group use is not permitted on Holidays except as authorized by the Superintendent. Reservations for picnic areas are handled by the individual park area offices.
Attraction Details
A lifeguard staffed swimming beach is provided at Parvin Grove, which is located on Parvin Lake. Parking areas, bathhouse, first-aid station, canoe rental and a concession offering refreshment, novelties and beach supplies are all conveniently located nearby. Picnic Groves with tables and grills and playgrounds are located on either side of the beach. Swimming is provided from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Inner tubes, rafts and other flotation devices are not permitted in the swimming area. Only Coast Guard approved life jackets are permitted.
Pets are prohibited on the beach.
Fishing is subject to New Jersey's Fish and Wildlife Laws. Freshwater species are mainly pickerel, sunfish, and catfish. Fishing License are available nearby. Please visit www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw for NJ fishing regulations. Hunting is allowed in large parts of the forest and is subject to New Jersey's Fish and Wildlife Laws. A public boat launch ramp is located at Fisherman's Landing. The launch ramp is available from sunrise to sunset year round. Parvin Lake is electric motor only. From Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day, required permits can be purchased at the park office. Orientation
Parvin Natural Area (465 acres) Situated at the edge of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, the Parvin Natural Area combines many of the characteristics and species of southern New Jersey and the Pine Barrens. Several trails run through the hardwood and Atlantic white cedar swamps, pitch pine lowlands and upland pine and oak forests. Parvin is home to the state-threatened barred owl and the endangered swamp pink.
Directions
NORTH/SOUTH: From Route 55 north or south, take exit 35 and follow signs to the Park Office. The Park is located between Centerton and Vineland on Route 540 also known as Almond Road NJ TURNPIKE: South to exit 4 North to 73 to 295 to exit 26 (Route 42) to route 55 to exit 35B. Follow signs. GARDEN STATE PARKWAY: to Route 40 West to Route 55 South to exit 35B. Follow signs. EAST: Route 40 to Route 553 South to Route 540 East. Two miles on the right.
