WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Please check in at the office.
Check in is mandatory and must be done by the site's Primary Occupant with ID.
If arriving after park office hours (9 AM – 4 PM), some parks allow campers to
check in the following morning between the hours of 9 AM and 10 AM.
Not all parks offer this- please call the park for more information.
Make and license plates of all vehicles must be provided at check in.
AGE REGULATIONS
All sites must be occupied by a Primary Occupant who must be 18 years of age or older.
VISITORS
Visitors are allowed at camping facilities between 8 AM to 8 PM. All visitors must pay day-use parking fees, if applicable. The number of visitors is restricted by the facility type and maximum capacity. Visitor parking will be determined by the Superintendent.
QUIET HOURS
Please observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM.
ALCOHOL
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
FIRES
Fires are permitted only in stoves, fireplaces, fire rings or in approved camp stoves provided by the camper. Fires may be prohibited due to forest fire threat when prevailing conditions warrant this precaution.
FIREWOOD
Firewood is not provided at cabins, campsites, lean-tos or shelters, but it can be purchased at some areas.
PETS
Pets are not permitted in camping facilities except for the "Pet-Friendly" campsites within Allaire State Park, Bass River State Forest, Belleplain State Forest, Brendan Byrne State Forest, Cheesequake State Park, High Point State Park, Jenny Jump State Forest, Parvin State Park, Round Valley Recreation Area, Stephens State Park, Stokes State Forest, Swartswood State Park, Wawayanda State Park, and Wharton State Forest. Rabies vaccination paperwork as well as registration must be on hand and on file at the office.
FIREARMS
A person shall not possess or discharge any firearms, pellet gun, bow and arrow, slight shot or other weapon capable of injuring people or wildlife. Hunters in compliance with Division of Fish and Wildlife hunting laws are exempted. Target practice is prohibited.
VEHICLE LIMIT
No more than two vehicles (including trailers) may be parked at camping facility. Additional vehicles are required to pay an additional $5 per night fee and may be parked in a location designated by the Superintendent. More than two vehicles may be parked at group campsites and group cabins subject to the approval by the Superintendent.
TRAILER HOOK-UPS
Water, electric and sewer hook-ups are not provided except at select Water & Electric Hook-up sites at Spruce Run Recreation Area. No sewer hook-ups are available at these sites.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT TIME
Check-in/Check-out time is noon at all campsites. Check-in/Check-out times are indicated on the confirmation email issued for lean-to, shelters and cabins.
CANCELLATION POLICY
The cancellation policy for campsite (tents, trailers, primitive campsite, group campsites, wilderness campsite) is: $40 NJ Resident/$50 Out of State Resident or a two night use fee (whichever is less) and any transaction fee paid will be deducted from refund due.
The cancellation policy for all other overnight facilities (cabins, group cabins, shelters, and lean-to) depends on when the cancellation is made:
- If you cancel seven days or less prior to your check-in date, one night use fee and any transaction fee will be deducted from refund due.
- If you cancel eight days or more prior to your check-in date, only the transaction fee paid will be deducted from refund due.
NO SHOW POLICY & EVICTION
Refunds will not be provided for reservations that do not arrive or if you are evicted for any reason.
EARLY DEPARTURE POLICY
If any portion of your stay is cancelled after check-in:
- For campsites (tents, trailers, primitive campsite, group campsites, wilderness campsite) – the total number of nights you occupied the site (based on check-out time) in addition to $40 NJ Resident/$50 Out of State Resident or a two-night use fee (whichever is less) and transaction fee paid will be deducted from any refund due.
- For all other overnight facilities (cabins, group cabins, shelters, and lean-to) – the total number of nights you occupied the site (based on check-out time) in addition to a one night use and transaction fee will be deducted from any refund due
