What is the cost of requesting a Crash Report?
Non-Toll Road Crash Reports and Boat Crash Reports have a $13.00 fee. Toll Road Crash Report have a $5.00 fee. A Records Request has a $20.00 fee for all reports and digital media. The fee for Request for printed photographs depends on the number of photographs ordered.
What are the payment options available on this service?
Four major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) as well as the debit cards that can be processed as a credit card are accepted.
In addition, users who have set up an online account can use the eCheck option for payment.
When will I receive the crash report requested?
Roadway Crash Report Requests placed using the Real Time Search (with either Case Number, License Plate Number or Driving License Number) may take up to 14 business days depending on their stage of processing. You will receive an email notification with instructions on how to download the report.
Boat Crash Reports and Records Requests for Serious/Fatal Crashes may take up to one month for delivery. Records Requests are delivered through mail service and the requestor is sent an email when the reports are mailed by the New Jersey State Police.
How long are the crash reports available for?
Roadway Crash Reports are available for 14 days from the fulfillment date, which is the date the email notification is sent to you indicating the report is available for download.
What information do I need to place a request for crash report?
For a Roadway Crash Report request, there is a real-time search feature where you can search either using Case Number, Driver's License Number, License Plate Number or Involved Party Last Name.
A Boat Crash Report request can be placed using the Case Number or other Crash Details. Records Request requires you to enter the Case Number, Docket Number for the Court Order and Bar Association Number and upload the Court Order. If you are placing an order for printed photographs, please first contact the New Jersey State Police at 609-882-200 ext. 2234 to get the Verification Code and number of photographs available for the Case Number.
Will I be informed if a crash report request can’t be fulfilled?
Yes, you will receive an email if a crash report request can’t be fulfilled.
Can I get crash report for a toll road crash?
Yes, you can get crash report for New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway crashes.
After clicking on the 'Request a Roadway Crash Report', select the option for 'Toll Roads'.
However, this service can't fulfill requests for the Atlantic City Expressway crashes.

How can I request a crash report for an older crash?
This service can be used to request for crash report for crashes that occurred NOT more than 6 years prior to the current year.

What are the benefits of creating an account?
Account setup is an optional feature.
However, if you are a frequent user of this site, you can save time for future requests by creating an account as you will bypass entry of the requester and payment information.
How do I set-up users on my account?
The Account Administrator can initiate the process by sending an invite email to the user through the “Invite New User” link under the “Manage Account” menu.
The user will click on the link in the email and follow the steps to create the “Business User” account that will be associated to your account.
The link can only be used one-time.
How do I remove a user from my account?
You cannot remove a user from your account but you can remove their access to a service. This will prevent them from accessing any aspect of the service.
To remove access for a user, go to the “Administer Account Users” link. Select the user and remove all roles.
What kind of documents can I upload for Court Order?
- Allowed document types include: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF or TIF
- A maximum of 10 files can be uploaded
- Each file must be less than 5 MB in size
